March 2026 — System Update

We rebuilt AddToQR.Com. Here's what changed.

A candid rundown of everything we've moved, improved, and introduced — and what you should double-check in your account.

We've moved to V2 — please help us catch anything we missed

This is a major system migration and while we've tested thoroughly, edge cases happen. If you notice anything that looks wrong — a missing QR code, a broken link, unexpected behaviour — please let us know. Your reports directly shape what we fix first.

If you've been with us for a while, you might have noticed things look rather different. That's because, honestly, everything is different — in a good way. We spent a long time thinking about how to make AddToQR.Com faster, more flexible, and genuinely more useful for the long term. The result is a completely rebuilt system under the hood, with a cleaner interface on top.

We migrated all existing data, but because a migration of this scale always has rough edges, we want to be upfront about everything: what transferred automatically, what you should verify, and what's genuinely new. No filler, just the facts.

A thank-you gift for our early users 🎁

Exclusive discount coupons — arriving in your inbox

Building something from scratch takes a lot, but it takes even more when real people are trusting it with their business. If you were with us on the previous system, you stuck with us through the early days — and that means something to us.

As a small token of appreciation, we've decided to send exclusive discount coupons to our early users. Check your inbox — and your spam folder just in case — for your gift. It should be arriving soon.

Note: Coupons are being sent to accounts that existed on the previous system. If you don't receive one and believe you should, reach out to us and we'll look into it.

Your data came with you

But please double-check your location details

We transferred everything we had — your QR codes, your location information, your account data. The migration ran automatically, and for the vast majority of accounts everything should look exactly as you left it.

That said, location data is the one area where we'd genuinely encourage you to take a few minutes and verify things. Address formats, map pins, and linked details can sometimes shift slightly when moving between systems, and it's the kind of thing that might not be obvious until a customer shows up at the wrong place.

What to do: Head to your Dashboard and review each location QR code. Check the address, the map pin, and any custom fields you had set up. It should only take a minute per QR code.

Old QR codes still work — no reprinting needed

Automatic ID forwarding is live

The new system assigns fresh IDs to QR codes internally. We know what that means if you've already printed materials, put stickers on products, or distributed codes in the wild — and we didn't want to make that your problem.

Every old QR code ID has been mapped to its new counterpart. When someone scans an old code, they'll be forwarded seamlessly to the correct destination in the new system. From a scanner's perspective, nothing has changed at all. No broken links, no error pages.

Bottom line: You don't need to reprint anything. Your printed QR codes will continue to route people to the right place, just as they always did.

Plans, payments, and a different kind of pricing

Per QR code pricing — not per account

One of the bigger structural changes is how pricing works. In the previous system, plans were tied to your account as a whole. In the new system, plans and features are per QR code. You choose what level each individual QR code needs, rather than paying for features you only use on some of them.

This also means we've introduced proper paid plans and an advertising layer depending on which plan a QR code is on. Different plans unlock different features — things like ad-free scanning, advanced analytics, custom branding, and more. For new QR codes you create, you'll want to pick the right plan from the start.

Where to find it: Open any QR code in your dashboard and look for the Plan Management tab. That's where you can see what plan it's currently on, what features it unlocks, and how to upgrade if needed.

New QR code types — and more on the way

Designer, product categories, and expanded formats

We didn't just migrate — we also expanded. The new system comes with a broader set of QR code types, from link collections and product showcases to location pages and text cards. Each type is purpose-built to look good when someone scans it, not just a plain redirect.

We're also actively working on improving the QR code designer itself — better customization options, more pattern styles — and fleshing out product categories so your catalog-style QR codes can be organized the way you actually think about your products.

None of this is finished in a single release. We'll keep shipping. If you have a QR code type in mind that isn't here yet, let us know — those requests genuinely influence what we build next.

Logging in — a few things worth knowing

Email + password, Google, and more to come

You can sign in with your email and password, or use Google — whichever feels easier. If you choose Google and the email address on your Google account matches an existing AddToQR.Com account, the two will be automatically linked. No duplicate account, no awkwardness. They just become one.

One thing to be aware of: when you connect an OAuth method like Google, it becomes your default login method going forward. If you'd rather switch back to email and password — or change the default to something else once we add more options — you can do that from your Profile settings in the dashboard.

We're also planning to add more sign-in methods over time. When a new one arrives, the same logic applies: connecting it to your existing email merges everything into the same account, and you pick whichever method you want as the default.

Your old password may no longer work

Passwords can't be transferred between systems — that's just how secure authentication works. If your previous password doesn't get you in, use Forgot Password on the login page. You'll get a reset link by email and be back in within a minute.

Quick checklist for returning users

Log in — if your old password doesn't work, use Forgot Password to reset it

If you use Google Sign-In, check your default login method in Profile settings

Browse your dashboard and confirm all your QR codes are there

Check location QR codes for address and map accuracy

Check your inbox (and spam folder) for your exclusive discount coupon

Test-scan one of your existing printed QR codes to confirm it still resolves correctly

Visit the Plan Management tab on any new QR code to understand the available options
